UbiShopper An interactive Smart Shopper Assistant application
Ubisign presents a new interactive catalogue for multimedia kiosks. UbiShopper, Ubisign’s recently developed interactive application, combines gesture interaction and real time content targeting processes creating an interactive product catalogue where displayed content is automatically selected considering the user’s age and gender. Simultaneously and in a completely anonymous manner, the application records and counts the profiles of age and gender of every person that has seen the content on screen.
Based on two different yet complementary computer based vision technologies, UbiShopper conjugates the capabilities of AVA technology (Anonymous Video Analytics) with Motion Sensing in order to create a solution that allows content automatic segmentation and gestural interaction.

The relationship between these two technologies has allowed the materialization of a solution that allows the creation of digital product catalogues where the segmentation based on gender/age is possible. The same solution allows, for instance, real-time targeting of advertising ads recording impacted visualizations.
How it Works
A user that wishes to interact with this application will have to approach the screen in order to start it. The user will be informed that the application has started through the visualization of a start menu with text information and where its silhouette becomes visible on screen. Next, the user will be able to “navigate” through the catalogue moving his arms and browsing through the contents. Additionally, the application uses its real-time content targeting capability and adapts contents to the user’s profile: male or female within certain age breaks.
From a marketing perspective and from the standing point of the relevance of the application’s contents, it is also possible to collect data about what the shopper sees and what he/she pays attention to on screen, what gender and what age break did the person belong to. This virtual interactive catalogue is perfect for integrating multimedia kiosks located in public places and mainly in retail stores for it provides an interesting, innovative experience and it allows the collection of relevant marketing data.
Interaction is a factor that has become more relevant and essential within the Digital Signage industry creating solutions that are evermore involving for shoppers allowing them to be in touch with content designed according to their real interest thus enabling a more effective brand communication.
